The main campus, known as the Texas Township Campus, is located outside of the city limits of Kalamazoo. The school’s Arcadia Commons Campus in Kalamazoo includes the Kalamazoo Valley Museum and the New Media Center, the Anna Whitten Hall.
Kalamazoo Valley Community College, also known as KVCC, is a 2 year community college located in Michigan. The school offers degrees and certificates in a variety of academic programs and trades. The school prepares students for any entry level jobs after training or transfer to any 4 year university in the region. The school offers programs in different kinds of vocational, business, and technology programs. The school also offers seminars and workshops for various careers such as health care professionals, law enforcement professionals, manufacturing processes, supervisory management , computer software, personal development, and many others.
In 1966, the community college district was founded by voters and accepted its first students in the latter part of 1968. Today the school accepts over 13,000 students. KVCC assumed the control of the Kalamazoo's public museum. A citizen’s committee also passed a tax to fund its operations. It was successful and completed a $20 million operation to build capital for the Kalamazoo Valley Museum located in Kalamazoo. Since the museum opened in 1996, the museum has attracted over 1.2 million visitors. KVCC opened the New Media Center in the Arcadia Commons Campus in 2004. The center was built to train students with the skills and creativity that is required in the new Age of Information, wherein e-commerce and the World Wide Web is the main medium. Programs in the center include animation, art in video games, e-business, graphic design, animation, and several others.
